San Diego Citizens for Accountable Government is a nonpartisan 527 public policy action committee based in San Diego, California. The committee has been active in several San Diego ballot measure campaigns.

Ballot campaigns in which the group has been involved include:

  • San Diego Employee Retirement Benefits, Proposition B, 2006.

Federal records show that the group's donors in 2005 included:

  • $100,000 from Manchester Resorts LP, owned by Doug Manchester.
  • $15,000 from the Performance Institute, Inc., a consulting firm founded by Carl DeMaio.[1]

Budget Project

The San Diego Citizens' Budget Project defined a set of "10 Citizens' Budget Reforms" for the City of San Diego which led to the formation of San Diego Citizens for Accountable Government as a grassroots coalition with the "mission of educating fellow San Diegans on the problems bogging down San Diego's city government while advocating for the implementation of the 10 Citizens' Budget reforms."
