Senate Committee advances two federal court candidates

Washington, D.C.: The Senate Judiciary Committee voted on June 10, 2010 to advance the nominations of two federal court candidates to the full Senate for confirmation. Robert Chatigny and Scott Matheson are seeking judgeships on the 2nd and 10th U.S. circuit courts, respectively. Committee members voted along party lines for Chatigny - 11 Democrats voted for him and 7 Republicans voted against him. Matheson was unanimously chosen.[1][2]
Chatigny currently serves on the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and Matheson is a faculty member at the S.J. Quinney College of Law, University of Utah.
