A Springfield City Jail Levy measure was on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Lane County, which is in Oregon, where it was approved.
This measure authorized the Springfield City to levy a property tax with the rate of $1.28 per $1,000 of assessed valuation for five years in order to fund the operation of Springfield Jail and police services. This tax is a renewal of an expiring levy. The estimated revenue from this tax is $4,699,947 in 2013/14, $4,840,946 in 2014/15, $4,986,174 in 2015/16, $5,135,759 in 2016/17, $5,289,832 in 2017/18.[1]
