Steven Mitchell Pestka
Steven Mitchell Pestka is a former circuit court judge in Michigan. He retired from the court in May of 2009 to help run the family business.[1]
Education
Pestka attended Grand Rapids Community College and received his bachelor’s degree in 1974 from the University of Michigan. In 1978 he earned his J.D. from the Detroit College of Law.[2]
Career
"After law school, Judge Pestka joined the Kent County Prosecuting Attorney’s office and subsequently was assigned to the Kent County Friend of the Court where he dealt with child support and parenting time matters. In 1980, he entered private practice and for the next eighteen years was involved primarily in the area of Family Law. In 1992, Judge Pestka was elected to the Kent County Board of Commissioners where he served for six years. In 1998 he was elected to the Michigan House of Representatives. In April of 2003 he was appointed to the Kent County Circuit Court, where he serves in the Family Division."[2]
