Two new nominations announced by Obama for federal judgeships

Washington, D.C.: On, Wednesday, February 16, 2011, President Barack Obama announced his nomination of Judge Timothy M. Cain and Judge Scott W. Skavdahl to federal judicial positions. Cain, who was nominated to the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, currently practices as a Family Court judge for the Tenth Judicial Circuit of South Carolina. Skavdahl was nominated to the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming on which he currently serves as a federal magistrate judge. Of the nominations, Obama said, "I am honored to nominate these distinguished individuals to serve on the United States District Court bench. They have both demonstrated an unwavering commitment to justice throughout their careers, and I am confident they will continue to serve the American people with integrity."[1]
