SALT LAKE CITY, Utah A debate was held for the six Democratic candidates for the Utah State Senate's 2nd District special election on Tuesday night. The election is being held to replace former senator Ben McAdams on December 1, 2012, by Utah's Democratic Party. McAdams resigned from his position after winning election to the position of Mayor of Salt Lake County on November 6.[1]
The six candidates covered a wide range of issues, including education funding, gay marriage, abortion rights, immigration, federal lands and Medicaid. During the debate, very few attacks were made at each other, but plenty were directed at the Republican majority.[1]
The six candidates are as follows: Will Carlson, Robert Comstock, Peter Corroon, Jim Dabakis, Brian Doughty, and Jenny Wilson.[1]
