William P. Polito
William P. Polito was a judge for the 7th Judicial District Supreme Court in Monroe County, New York. He joined the court in 1997, following his election. In 2009, he became a certificated justice. His last term expired in 2012.[1]
Education
Polito received his B.A. degree from St. Michael's College University of Toronto in 1960 and his J.D. degree from the Syracuse University School of Law in 1963.[1]
Career
Polito began his career in 1963 as a general practice attorney and a first assistant attorney for the Legal Aid Society. He left Legal Aid in 1969 to become a partner in Solin, Polito & Anderson. He worked in that capacity until 1996, when he was elected to the Supreme Court. He also served as a Webster Town Attorney from 1981 to 1984, a Small Assessment Tax Review Officer from 1990 to 1996, and a Monroe County Tax Certiorari Administrator from 2001 to 2005.[1]
