William Skow
William J. Skow was a judge on the Ohio Sixth District Court of Appeals. He was elected to this position on November 2, 2004 and took office on February 9, 2005.[1][2] Judge Skow passed away on June 21, 2009.[3][4]
Education
Justice Skow was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1941. He graduated from Harvard College with a B.A. in American Government in 1963 and then graduated from the University of Michigan with a J.D. degree in 1966. After law school, he served in the U.S. Army for two years, including one year in Vietnam. He is now married and has two daughters.[1]
Career
After finishing his service in the army in 1969, Justice Skow began his legal career as a general practice lawyer. He worked in this position for 14 years, mostly with the firm Konop, Skow, Schlachter and Weisberg. He also worked for 4 years as the Chief Legislative Assistant to U.S. Congressman Thomas Ashley. In 1983, he was appointed Judge of the Toledo Municipal Court. He served in this position until 1986, when he was appointed to the Lucas County Common Pleas Court. Then, in 2004, he was elected to the Court of Appeals.[1]
