This measure sought to increase the current school levy by a rate of $.87 per $100 of assessed value for an ongoing amount of time in order to further pay for purchasing new textbooks, equipment, supplies as well as paying for additional program costs.[3]
Text of measure
The question on the ballot:
| Shall the Board of Education of the Lakeland R-III School District be authorized to increase the operating tax levy for the purposes of purchasing textbooks, equipment and supplies, maintaining and improving technology, staffing, and managing the inceased costs of educational programs by $0.87 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation? If this proposition is approved, the adjusted operating levy of the School District is estimated to be $4.0153 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation.[4] |
