The Alabama Suffrage Amendment, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Alabama on June 4, 1996, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. This measure proposed to modify the constitution to extend voting rights to all citizens who have not been convicted of certain felonies and are 18 years of age or older.[1]
