My name is Anna Isbell and I’m running for Bella Vista City Council, Ward 3, Position 1.
  • Bella Vista needs leaders with a skill set that is ready to take on complicated local issues. Leaders that will listen to citizens with respect, develop a plan and then execute that plan with transparency and accountability.
  • Bella Vista is a natural wonderland for its nearly 33,000 residents as well as surrounding Northwest Arkansas and welcomes recreational tourism from around the world. City Council leaders need to work effectively and transparently with all stakeholders to ensure we maintain the natural beauty while supporting small business growth and recreational opportunities. It is essential that we responsibly grow our sales tax base in order to maintain our 550 miles of roads and ensure our fire and police keep our city safe.
  • Lastly, Bella Vista boasts over 100 miles of trail many of which are not yet connected. It will be important to ensure we create safe trails, roads and connectors for all Bella Vistans who share these spaces. There are plans for additional trails that have not yet been started so committing to a timeline to complete will be important for the resiliency of the City.
I am most passionate about the community boards and commissions that our citizens work hand in hand on with different city and POA members including our lakes commission, active transportation advisory board and arts council. Having citizen involved in making our community better is incredible!
It is important for elected officials to operate with a high level of ethical behavior including transparency and accountability. I think it’s also critical for elected officials to be able to listen to their constituents in a respectful manner. Lastly, it is imperative that elected officials have the skill set to operate and be successful in today’s environment in terms of technology and social media literacy.
I believe I will be successful in City Council because of my ability to listen thoughtfully, gather information and facts, organize that information, make decisions and then execute the plan. It is more important now than ever to have sharp elected officials that can successfully navigate complicated issues.
I worked as a cashier at Super 1 Foods in high school and ended up spending my entire career in the grocery and food industry.
