Annette G. Butler was a judge on the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. She was appointed to the court by Governor John Kasich in November 2011 to succeed Timothy J. McGinty.[1] After failing to be elected in the November 6, 2012 election her term expired at the end of 2012.[2]

Education

Butler received her undergraduate degree in sociology and psychology from Case Western Reserve University and her J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.[1]

Career

Butler has spent the majority of her legal career with the U.S. Attorney's Office, serving as an assistant U.S. Attorney for Civil Trials and Appeals. She has also worked in the private practice of law and taught legal courses at the Academy of Court Reporting & Technology and the Justice Department National Advocacy Center.[1]

2012 election

Butler was defeated by Steve Gall in her bid for election to the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas on November 6, 2012, receiving 42.51 percent of the vote.[2] [3]
