On the Cusp: Tracking Potential Candidates

  • Hillary Clinton said that she would not run for president again. “I want to be sure that people understand I'm going to keep speaking out. I'm not going anywhere,” she added.

  • Mark Cuban said he had not yet made a decision on launching a presidential bid. “We’ll see what happens. It all comes down to how things play out. It’s not something I feel like I have to do. ... But it’s something that if circumstances were right I would do,” he said.

  • Andrew Cuomo said his presidential intentions were partially based on who had not yet entered the race. “I have a set of assumptions as to who is going to run and what that means for this country. I’ve had conversations with people, obviously, and I think certain people are getting into the race and I’m making my assumptions on that,” Cuomo said.

  • Jeff Merkley announced that he would seek re-election to the U.S. Senate in Oregon rather than run for president.

  • In an email to supporters, Beto O’Rourke called for the legalization of marijuana nationwide.
