Ballotpedia's Tuesday Count is on the rise

It's a new month and a new ballot measure count according to Ballotpedia's Tuesday Count. This past week Washington joined 27 other states with measures on the 2010 ballot. Additionally, two measures were approved for the ballot in Oregon and one in South Dakota; bringing the total count to 74. According to the Ballot Measure Scorecard five measures remain pending signature verification. The next petition drive deadline is March 10, 2010 in North Dakota for the June 8, 2010 statewide ballot.

In Mississippi measures are already being reviewed for the 2011 statewide ballot. This week the secretary of state approved the proposed Voter Identification Initiative for the November 8, 2011 statewide election. The measure, if approved by voters, would require Voter ID at election polls.

May 18 ballot

Oregon Measure 69 - authorizes the state to incur indebtedness for the benefit of higher education

November 2 ballot

South Dakota Vote by Secret Ballot - protects the right to secret ballots in federal, state, and union representation elections
Oregon Property Projects Measure - authorizes lowest-cost borrowing for the state's real and personal property projects
Washington Judge Bail Authority Amendment - gives judges authority to deny bail whenever they deem the public at risk
