Two seats on the College Station Independent School District Board of Trustees were up for general election on November 3, 2015.

The seats of Place 1 incumbent Paul Dorsett and Place 2 incumbent Carol Barrett were up for election.[1] Dorsett did not file for re-election, and two candidates sought his seat. They were Phillip Garrett and Mike Nugent. Barrett was running unopposed.[2]

Nugent won the Place 1 seat and Barrett was re-elected to the Place 2 seat.

Brazos County was home to an estimated 203,164 residents in 2013, according to the United States Census Bureau.[3] College Station Independent School District was the 97th-largest school district in Texas, serving 10,805 students during the 2011-2012 school year.[4]

Voter and candidate information

The College Station Board of Trustees consists of seven members who are elected at large to three-year terms. There was no primary election, and the general election for two seats was held November 3, 2015.[6]

A member of the board must be 18 years old, a U.S. citizen and a resident of the district. An individual seeking office must be a resident of the state for 12 months and a resident of the district for six months, prior to the last date on which the candidate could file to be listed on the ballot. The deadline to file for a place on the general election ballot was August 24, 2015.[6] Voters had to register to vote by October 5, 2015, to cast ballots in this election.
