Two seats on the College Station Independent School District Board of Trustees were up for general election on November 3, 2015.
The seats of Place 1 incumbent Paul Dorsett and Place 2 incumbent Carol Barrett were up for election.[1] Dorsett did not file for re-election, and two candidates sought his seat. They were Phillip Garrett and Mike Nugent. Barrett was running unopposed.[2]
Nugent won the Place 1 seat and Barrett was re-elected to the Place 2 seat.

College Station Independent School District is located in Brazos County, Texas. The county seat of Brazos County is Bryan. Brazos County was home to an estimated 203,164 residents in 2013, according to the United States Census Bureau.[3] College Station Independent School District was the 97th-largest school district in Texas, serving 10,805 students during the 2011-2012 school year.[4]
Demographics
Brazos County outperformed the rest of Texas in terms of higher education achievement in 2013. The United States Census Bureau found that 38.8 percent of Brazos County residents aged 25 years and older had attained a bachelor's degree, compared to 26.7 percent for the state as a whole. The median household income in Brazos County was $38,310, compared to $51,900 statewide. The poverty rate in Brazos County was 29.8 percent, compared to 17.6 percent for the entire state.[3]

Voter and candidate information
The College Station Board of Trustees consists of seven members who are elected at large to three-year terms. There was no primary election, and the general election for two seats was held November 3, 2015.[6]
A member of the board must be 18 years old, a U.S. citizen and a resident of the district. An individual seeking office must be a resident of the state for 12 months and a resident of the district for six months, prior to the last date on which the candidate could file to be listed on the ballot. The deadline to file for a place on the general election ballot was August 24, 2015.[6] Voters had to register to vote by October 5, 2015, to cast ballots in this election.
