David J. King is the chief judge for the First Judicial District in Kansas. He was appointed to the district court in 1986.[1] He was most recently retained in 2014 for a term that expired on January 13, 2019.[2]

2014

King was retained to District 1 with 62.5 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [2] 

2010

King was retained to the district court with 62.5 percent of the vote in 2010.[3]

Education

King received his bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas, and his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law.[1]

Career

King has been an assigned judge with the Kansas Court of Appeals six times, and once with the Kansas Supreme Court. He worked in private practice for 5 years and has served as assistant attorney in Leavenworth County, Kansas.[1]
