Lewis was defeated by Republican Thomas Massie.[1] Lewis ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Kentucky's 4th District. He ran as an independent candidate. He faced Bill Adkins (D) and Thomas Massie (R) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2]
