English: Hassan Rouhani (also transliterated as Rowhani) born 12 November 1948 in the town of Sorkheh, Iran, is an Iranian politician and Shia Mujtahid. He has been representative of the Supreme Leader to the Supreme National Security Council, (since 1989), Member of the Expediency Discernment Council (since 1991), Member of the Assembly of Experts (since 1998), President of the Center for Strategic Research (since 1992), Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (1989-2005), National Security Advisor to the President (for 13 years), Iran's top nuclear negotiator (2003-2005), Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Iran (1992–2000) and Member of Parliament of Iran (1980–2000).
