Glenn J. Kim is a judge of the O'ahu First Circuit of Hawaii. He was nominated in 2007 by Gov. Linda Lingle and approved in a divided vote by the Hawaii Senate to replace retired Judge Marcia Waldorf. In 2017, the Hawaii Judicial Selection Commission voted to retain Kim for another 10-year term.[1][2][3][4]

Education

Kim earned a B.A and a J.D. at the University of Hawaii, and also earned a A.M and Ph.D from Harvard University.[5][6]

Career

Kim worked a deputy prosecuting attorney at the Honolulu Prosecutor's Office from 1993 till his judicial appointment. Prior to that, he worked as a law clerk for Hawaii Supreme Court Chief Justice Ronald Moon, as a defender intern in the Office of the Public Defender, and as a judicial extern for federal district court judge Alan Kay.

Kim also worked as an assistant professor of English at the University of Hawaii, as a lecturer of history and literature at Harvard University, and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.[5][6]
