Pennsylvania: Governor Tom Corbett last week announced six judicial nominations to courts in the state. The nominees are:
- T. Francis Shields to the Philadelphia Municipal Court,
- J. Scott O'Keefe to the Philadelphia Municipal Court,
- Paul E. Cozza to the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas,
- Kenneth J. Powell, Jr. to the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas,
- Roger F. Gordon to the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas, and
- Michael W. Flannelly to the York County Court of Common Pleas.[1]
These nominations were made after Chief Justice Ronald Castille asked Governor Corbett to hold off on filling the vacancies. The Chief Justice has the task of closing an $8.7 million hole in the state judiciary budget projected for next year.[2]
