The Indiana General Assembly Oversight of Superintendent of Public Instruction, Amendment 1, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Indiana on November 7, 1972, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed that the state constitution be amended to establish the method of selection and tenure of the state superintendent of public instruction.[1]
