The Interstate Library Compact is an interstate compact. There are 35 states in the compact. This compact makes it possible for state, local and private libraries to coordinate provision of services and the use of library facilities on an interstate basis. This includes the creation of joint library districts.[1]

Text of the compact

The legislature of each member state passes the laws with certain modifications, but the core of the legislation remains the same.
