James Pruden was a 2016 Libertarian candidate for District 86 of the Kansas House of Representatives. Pruden ran unsuccessfully for the same seat in 2012 and 2014.

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 2, 2014. Incumbent Jim Ward was unopposed in the Democratic primary.
