Jason Holmberg is the Division 6 judge on the Pinal County Superior Court in Arizona. He was initially appointed by Gov. Jan Brewer (R) on March 25, 2013. Holmberg won retention in the general election on November 8, 2016. His current term ended on January 4, 2021.[1][2]

Biography

Holmberg earned an undergraduate degree in communications from the University of Southern California in 2001. He went on to pursue a J.D. at the University of California-Los Angeles School of Law, graduating in 2004. Prior to his judicial appointment, Holmberg was an assistant bureau chief with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office (2004–2009) and a special victims unit bureau chief for the Pinal County Attorney's Office (2009–2013).[1]

Awards and associations

Holmberg was nominated for the David R. White Excellence in Victim Advocacy Award in 2012, having previously received acclaim from the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office in 2003.[1]

Arizona held elections for 80 superior court judgeships on November 8, 2016. Sixty-three of those seats were up for retention election. Three counties—Maricopa, Pima, and Pinal—use retention elections for their superior courts.[3]
