Campaign themes

2016

Ricks' campaign website highlighted the following issues:

Homelessness and Mental Health

I support actions that:

  • reduce the tax burden to companies that provide mental health services, and
  • remove restrictions on employment that unfairly impact homeless people (such as restrictions requiring a physical address to become employed).

Jobs and the Economy

I support actions that:

  • reduce burdensome regulation on businesses,
  • encourage local unions and charities to develop work programs, and
  • offer alternative opportunities to our youth so they are set up for success.

Community

I support actions that:

  • remove unnecessary regulation from matters of local community interest, and
  • reward communities for addressing issues at a neighborhood or local level.[1]
