Holt ran for election to the Lancaster County Probate Court.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 46.3 percent of the vote. He competed against Sandra S. Estridge.

Education
Holt earned his B.S. from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis in 1975 and his M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1985.[2]
Military career
Holt served in the United States Marine Corp. He earned the rank of Sergeant before leaving the military to attend college.[2]
Career
Holt has 12 years experience working on a municipal council. At the time of his candidacy, he was on the Lancaster County Planning Commission.[2]
