John A. Fusco
John A. Fusco was a certificated justice of the Richmond County Supreme Court in the 13th Judicial District of New York. He was appointed to the court in 2007 and became a certificated justice the following year..[1]
Biography and Education
Fusco received his Bachelor of Science degree from St. Peter's College in 1959 and his J.D. degree from the New England School of Law in 1963. He worked as a Company Commander in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965.[1]
Career
Fusco began his legal career in 1967 as a sole practitioner. He worked in this capacity until 1972 and was a law secretary for the New York City Civil Court from 1969 to 1971. He then worked as a senior partner of the law firm of Russo, Fusco, Scamardella & D'Amato from 1972 to 1998. He was also a member of the New York City Council, where he served as the Minority Whip from 1992 to 1998. From 2000 to 2003, he taught as an adjunct professor of business law at the College of Staten Island.
Fusco began his judicial career in 1999 when he was elected to the Richmond County Surrogate's Court. He served there until 2007, when he was then elected to the Supreme Court.[1]
