John J. Hoy
John J. Hoy was a judge of the 15th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was elected on September 4, 1990, and took office the following January. In 2008, he was re-elected. Hoy retired from the court in December 2012.[1][2][3][4]
Education
Hoy received his B.A. degree from Duke University. After serving in the Peace Corps, he received his J.D. degree from the University of Toledo Law School and his LL.M. degree (in Taxation) from the New York University School of Law. He was admitted to the Bar in 1975.[5][3]
Career
Hoy began his career at the firm of Walton Lantaff in 1976. He then helped to form Davis, Hoy, Carroll & Isaacs, P.A. in 1985. He practiced there until he was elected to the circuit court in 1990.[3]
