Karese Laguerre was a candidate who ran on the Libertarian ticket for lieutenant governor of New Jersey in the 2017 election. She and gubernatorial nominee Peter Rohrman were defeated in the November 7, 2017, election.

Biography

A native of Newark, New Jersey, Laguerre had lived in the state for her entire life at the time of her lieutenant gubernatorial campaign. Laguerre worked as a sales representative at Cablevision in 2008 before joining LVMH Fragrance Brands later that year in the accounts payable department. Laguerre left the company in 2009, later pursuing an associate degree in dental hygiene at University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey, which would later become a part of Rutgers University. In 2014, Laguerre joined Dental Health Associates, P.A. as a registered dental hygienist. In 2016, Laguerre joined Great Expressions Dental Centers, where she was employed at the time of her lieutenant gubernatorial run.[1][2]

In 2017, Laguerre was nominated by the Libertarian Party of New Jersey to serve as Peter Rohrman's running mate in his gubernatorial election bid.[1]
