Four of the seven seats on the Lincoln Public Schools school board in Nebraska were up for by-district general election on May 2, 2017. A primary election was held on April 4, 2017. All primary candidates moved on to the general because no more than two candidates filed to run in each race. Although candidates had the option to file with political parties, this school board election was nonpartisan and political parties did not appear on the ballot.

District 1 incumbent Kathy Danek and District 3 incumbent Barbara Baier filed for re-election as Democrats and both ran unopposed, each winning additional terms on the board. District 5 incumbent Lanny Boswell filed as a Republican and defeated nonpartisan challenger Preston Harris. District 7 incumbent Don Mayhew filed as a Democrat and ran unopposed, winning another term.[1]
