Kelly Skye
Kelly Skye is a judge for Position 17 of the Oregon 4th Judicial District Circuit Court. She assumed office in 2009. Her current term ends on January 1, 2029.
Skye won re-election for the Position 17 judge of the Oregon 4th Judicial District Circuit Court outright in the primary on May 17, 2022, after the general election was canceled.
Skye was appointed to the court by Gov. Ted Kulongoski on October 9, 2009.[1][2]
Biography
Skye graduated from the University of Oregon with her B.S. in 1988. She earned her J.D. from the Northeastern University School of Law in 1993.[3][4][5]

Selection method

Judges of the Oregon Supreme Court, Oregon Court of Appeals and Oregon Circuit Courts are all selected in an identical manner. They are chosen in nonpartisan elections to serve six-year terms, after which they must run for re-election if they wish to continue serving.[6]
The chief judges of the circuit courts are appointed by the chief justice of the state supreme court to serve a two-year term.[6]
Qualifications
To serve on the circuit court, a judge must be:[6]
- a U.S. citizen;
- a state resident for at least three years;
- a resident of his or her circuit for at least one year;
- a state bar member; and
- under the age of 75.

Skye was ran unopposed for election to the Multnomah County Circuit Court in November 2010. She received 97.57 percent of the vote.[7]
