The Louisiana City Court Establishment Amendment, also known as Amendment 44, was on the ballot in Louisiana on November 3, 1970, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. It proposed that areas containing cities with a population of over 4,000 people should be permitted to have a city court.[1]
