Maine Repeal Treasurer Term Limit, Proposed Constitutional Amendment No. 1 (1951)

The Maine Repeal Treasurer Term Limit Referendum, also known as Proposed Constitutional Amendment No. 1, was on the September 10, 1951 ballot in Maine as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure repealed the provision limiting the State Treasurer to serve no more than six years successively.[1][2] This amended Section 1 of Article V, Part Fourth of the Maine Constitution.[3]
