Mark B. Craig

Mark B. Craig is the Republican Place 1 judge for the 36th Circuit Court in Alabama. He was appointed to this position by Gov. Bob Riley (R), effective February 1, 2009, to replace retired Judge Philip Reich. Craig won election to a full six-year term in the office in 2010. He won re-election in the general election on November 8, 2016.[1]
Biography
Craig received his J.D. degree from Vanderbilt University in 1985. He was a private practice attorney after law school. He was also an adjunct professor at John C. Calhoun Community College from 1992 to 2001.[1][2]

Alabama held general elections for local judicial offices in 2016. A primary election took place on March 1, 2016, with a primary runoff on April 12, 2016. The general election was held on November 8, 2016.
Incumbent Mark B. Craig ran unopposed in the general election for the Alabama 36th Judicial Circuit Place 1 seat.[3]

Craig faced opponent Chris Malcolm in the 2010 general election. Craig won, earning 57.34% of the vote, compared to Malcolm's 42.66%.[4]
