Mesa City Parks Bond Measure (November 2012)
A Mesa City Parks Bond Measure was on the November 6, 2012 ballot in the city of Mesa which is in Maricopa County where it was approved.
This measure issued a bond in the amount of $65 million in order to help pay for park improvement projects in the city. A series of community meetings were held to get resident's opinions on what needed to be worked on and improved throughout the park system. The set of projects which would be covered by the bond money were those which were deemed most important by residents and city officials. City officials noted that the original bond proposal was $131 million, and although some may question spending money on parks officials want residents to know that the proposed bond only would covers those projects that are deemed vital to the city to ensure growth and community development.[1]
