Michael D. Lyon
Michael D. Lyon was a Utah Second Judicial District judge for Weber County for the Ogden District Court.[1] Judge Lyon was appointed to this position in July 1992 by former governor Norman H. Bangerter.[2] In April 2013, Lyon announced his retirement from the bench. He officially retired on September 1, 2013.[3]
Education
Lyon received his undergraduate degree from Weber State College and his J.D. from the University of Utah.[2]
Career
Lyon has served as a judge on Utah's Second Judicial District Court since 1992. From 1994 to 1998, he served as associate presiding judge and presiding judge of the court. Prior to his appointment to the bench, Lyon worked as a Justice Court judge for South Ogden City for 18 years, and he also practiced law with Lyon, Helegesen, Waterfall, & Jones in Ogden. Lyon is a former Clinton City attorney and deputy Weber County attorney.[2]
