Michael Lief

Michael Lief is a judge of the Ventura County Superior Court in California. He was elected on November 4, 2014, to a term that expires on January 3, 2021.[1]
Education
Lief received a bachelor's degree in political science from Drew University in 1989 and a J.D. from Pepperdine University’s School of Law in 1995.[2]
Military service
Lief was in the United States Navy from 1981 to 1985, serving on a submarine as a petty officer second class on a submarine.[2]
Career
Lief worked in the Ventura County District Attorney's Office from 1996 until his election to the court in 2014. He became a senior deputy district attorney in 2001. He worked in Marvel Animation's legal department for a short time after graduating law school in 1995. Lief also worked as a copy editor at the New Jersey Herald.[2]
