The Montana Municipal Obscenity Ordinances Initiative, also known as I-79, was on the November 7, 1978 ballot in Montana as an initiated state statute, where it was approved. The measure allowed local governments to adopt obscenity provisions more restrictive than state law as well as to decide what would be considered obscene.[1][2]
