Two seats on the Noblesville School Board were up for general election on November 4, 2014.

Incumbent Julia Kozicki ran against challengers Carl Johnson IV and Kevin Kalstad for two at-large seats. Fellow board member Patrick Berghoff did not file for re-election.[1][2] Julia Kozicki and Kevin Kalstad defeated Carl Johnson IV to win the two seats.

Noblesville Schools is located in Hamilton County, Indiana. The county seat is Noblesville. Hamilton County is home to 296,693 residents, according to the United States Census Bureau.[3] In the 2011-2012 school year, Noblesville Schools was the 26th-largest school district in Indiana and served 9,444 students.[4]

Demographics

Hamilton County overperformed compared to the rest of Indiana in terms of higher education achievement in 2012. The United States Census Bureau found that 55.0 percent of Hamilton County residents aged 25 years and older had attained a bachelor's degree compared to 23.0 percent for Indiana as a whole. The median household income for Hamilton County was $84,821 compared to $48,374 for the state of Indiana. The percentage of people below poverty level for Hamilton County was 4.7 percent while it was 14.7 percent for the state of Indiana.[3]

Voter and candidate information

The Noblesville School Board consists of five members elected at large to four-year terms. There was no primary election, and the general election was held on November 4, 2014. Two seats were up for election in 2014.[1]

School board candidates had to file with their county elections department during the candidate filing period, which began on July 23, 2014, and ended on August 22, 2014. Write-in candidates also had to file by August 22, 2014. To vote in the 2014 general election, voters had to register by October 6, 2014.[6]
