Peter C. Acker ran for judge on the Mercer County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania in 2011.

2011 election

Acker won the Republican Party primary on May 17. He received 30.9% in the Democratic primary and 42.6% of the vote in the Republican primary.[1] He was defeated by Robert G. Yeatts in the general election November 8, receiving 49.2% of the vote.[2]

Education

Acker earned his B.A. in political science cum laude from Denison University in 1975. He earned his J.D. from Dickinson School of Law cum laude in 1978.[3]

Professional career

After his admission to the bar Acker went into private practice at the firm Cusick, Madden, Joyce & McKay where he served as an associate, senior counsel and partner. In 1995 he opened his own private practice. He has also served as a Solicitor for Wilmington Township, Sandy Lake Township, Mill Creek Township, and Mercer County.[3]
