Phil Matthey is a judge of the Florida 6th Circuit Court. His current term ends on January 5, 2027.

Matthey won re-election for judge of the Florida 6th Circuit Court outright after the general election on November 3, 2020, was canceled.

Education

Matthey earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and his J.D. degree from the Stetson University College of Law.[1]

Career

Prior to his judicial election in 2014, Matthey served as a prosecutor for the State Attorney's Office in Miami-Dade County, where he focused on felony prosecutions. His other experience includes time in private practice and time at the Pinellas County State Attorney's Office.[1]

Matthey ran for election to the Sixth Circuit Court.
Primary: He was elected in the primary on August 26, 2014, receiving 54.5 percent of the vote. He competed against Amanda Colon.[2][3]
