Cisneros won re-election for judge of the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in California outright in the primary on June 7, 2022, after the primary and general election were canceled.
Governor Gavin Newsom (D) appointed Cisneros to the court on September 3, 2021, to replace William A. MacLaughlin.[1]
Although California Superior Court judges are elected in nonpartisan elections, a press release from Gov. Newsom's office announcing Cisneros' appointment on September 3, 2021, identified him as a Democrat.[1]
Biography
Cisneros received his J.D. from the Southwestern University School of Law. He worked as an Associate at Parker Stanbury LLP from 1999 to 2001. Until his appointment in 2021, he served as a Deputy Public Defender at the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office from 2001 onwards.[1]
