Rasmuson and Vibeto seek Minot municipal judgeship
June 1, 2010
Minot, North Dakota: Incumbent Judge Mark Rasmuson will face City Alderman Aaron Vibeto in an election for the Minot municipal court judgeship on June 8, 2010.
Rasmuson has judged on this court for 32 years and is seeking another four-year term. He previously worked in Minot as a criminal defense attorney and assistant city prosecutor. In addition to his judgeship, he works as a private practice lawyer. He points out that he has had more experience in criminal justice law than Vibeto.
Vibeto has served on the Minot City Council since 2008. He also runs his own law office, specializing in oil and gas, estate planning, and real estate cases. He claims that, if elected, he will crack down on those who refuse to pay their court fines in order to decrease the court's many outstanding debts.[1]
