Robert E. Cadena is the judge of Texas District 83.[1] He was appointed to the seat by Gov. Rick Perry after Judge Carl Pendergrass passed away in January 2013.[2][3] Cadena was re-elected in 2014 for a term that expires on December 31, 2018.[4]

Cadena ran for re-election to the 83rd District Court.
Primary: He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on March 4, 2014.
General: He defeated F. David Ortiz in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 57.3 percent of the vote. [4][5][6] 

Education

Cadena received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.[3]

Career

Immediately prior to his appointment to the bench in 2013, Cadena worked for the Western District of Texas as an assistant U.S. attorney.[3]
