Robert P. Faust is a Utah Third Judicial District judge for Salt Lake County for the Salt Lake City Justice Court.[1] Faust was appointed to this position in January 2007 by Gov. Jon Huntsman.[2]

Faust won a retention election on November 8, 2016.[3]

Biography

Faust received his J.D.from the J. Reuben Clark College of Law at Brigham Young University in 1982.[2] Faust began his legal career with the firm of Nielsen & Senior as an associate and shareholder. He worked in this position until 1996, when he became a sole practitioner and counsel for the United States Postal Service. He then worked as a special assistant United States attorney for the District of Utah.[2]

Utah held retention elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. The filing deadline for sitting judges seeking retention was April 15, 2016. Robert P. Faust was retained in the Utah 3rd District Court (Faust Seat) election with 71.82 percent of the vote. [3]
