Robin Reedy
Robin Reedy was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 39 of the Nevada State Assembly.
Campaign themes
2014
Reedy's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]
Protecting our Liberty
- Excerpt: "I will work diligently to protect the rights and liberty of Nevadans."
Growing our economy
- Excerpt: " Diversification will help our economy during down economic cycles and keep our taxes lower. We also need to be more willing to work in developing an economy around our natural resources: oil, natural gas, and minerals. We have tremendous supplies of all three but have barely begun to realize the economic benefits."
Federal lands
- Excerpt: "Our greatest potential revenue sources are tied to things we don’t own and don’t have control over. An aggressive bipartisan effort to return federal land to the State and then to individual buyers is necessary. In principle, that land, or large portions of that land, should belong to Nevada."
Education
- Excerpt: "I would attempt to remove as many collective bargaining statutes as possible from the education statutes."
- Excerpt: "Lay-offs and other reductions in the workforce should be within the ranks of the administration first and should be based on seniority."
Gun control
- Excerpt: "Our Second Amendment Rights are consistently under assault. I have a conceal carry permit and believe the legislature should do everything possible to protect the rights of Nevadans to use guns for sport and defense."
Religious freedom
- Excerpt: "As a legislator I will always strive to ensure that Nevada laws protect our religious institutions from the intrusion of government policy."
