S. Gene Schwarm
S. Gene Schwarm was a judge on the Fifth District Appellate Court in Illinois.[1] He was appointed to the position effective April 1, 2014 through December 5, 2016. Schwarm was appointed to fill the vacancy left by retiring judge James M. Wexstten. Prior to serving on the Fifth District Appellate Court, Schwarm was first appointed to the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court in 1994 and was elected to a full term in 1996.[2][3] Schwarm was elected chief judge of the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court in July of 2001.[4]
Education
Schwarm earned a B.S. from the University of Illinois in 1978. He received his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis in 1981. He was also admitted to the bar in 1981.[4]
