March 27, 2026: Fifty-seven (57) state executive incumbents are term-limited and cannot run for re-election in 2026. Of these 57 incumbents, 26 are Democrats, 29 are Republicans, and two are nonpartisan. For the 2026 election cycle, there are 44 states with state executive offices on the ballot. Twenty-two (22) of these states have term-limited officials.[1]
