Campaign themes

2016

The following issues were listed on Allan's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Religious Freedom: I am proud to be endorsed by Sweet Cakes owners Aaron and Melissa Klein. The Kleins religious beliefs kept them from baking a cake for a same-sex wedding. As a result, they were forced to pay a $135,000 penalty and have had to close down their business.
  • Jobs and the Economy: Small businesses and job creation thrive when there is confidence in the marketplace. The federal government hinders growth with high taxes and unnecessary regulations.
  • Healthcare: As a mental healthcare provider, I understand the need for quality accessible healthcare. Unfortunately, the ACA (Obamacare) has succeeded in only making healthcare less affordable and a burden to consumers with more red tape and skyrocketing premiums.
  • Veterans: Countless veterans have died waiting for care at the VA and yet little has been done to address the core issues. The VA must be overhauled. We should implement a VA voucher system that allows any veteran, living anywhere, with any medical need, to see the doctor of their choice at anytime. No more lines. No more assigned doctors. No more driving half a day to get treatment. Congress needs to act!
  • Immigration: Build a wall, increase border security, ban sanctuary cities, round up the criminal element, and cut off the welfare incentives. We need to be able to track visa overstays which account for half of those here illegally and stop those from returning who continue to abuse the visa system. None of this works unless we actually enforce our current immigration laws. Congress and the White House needs to start leading on this issue.
