Seth Hollist was a 2012 Libertarian candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 32nd Congressional District of Texas.

Hollist has worked in information technology and been a political columnist for Examiner.com. He is affiliated with Ron Paul Dallas 2012, LP Dallas, and the Toyota Territory Off-roaders Association.[1]

Hollist was defeated by Republican incumbent Pete Sessions on November 6, 2012.[2]

Campaign themes

Hollist's campaign website listed the following issues:[3]

  • Requiring sunset and reauthorization requirements in all bills and passing a bill requiring all current federal laws to sunset in year 10 unless reauthorized.
  • A smaller, more reasonably sized and better-focused military . Ending the undeclared and unconstitutional wars and policing activities.
  • The Downsize DC Agenda.
  • Stopping socialistic UN agendas and other treaties that usurp the USA's sovereignty.
  • And refining and sharing his theoretical ideas found in "The Clean Slate and Improving Representation Amendment."

Hollist ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Texas' 32nd District. He ran as a Libertarian candidate. He ran against incumbent Pete Sessions (R) and Katherine Savers McGovern (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[4]
